Plain design

The Flat Design is minimalist and its main characteristics are the use of a free and clean space, bright colors and simple 2D illustrations. This style started as one of the many trends that emerge every year, however, due to its ease of transmitting information, its accessibility and the fact that it is visually attractive, it has become a standard in  web design . The growth in the use of this type of  web designIt is due to the need for web pages to load faster and faster and the need to make these a pleasant experience both on the computer and on tablets or mobile phones. Flat Design is the favorite style from the point of view of user experience (UX). By reducing small details and unnecessary decorations, we help the user to focus on what really matters and navigate more easily and effectively.

Animated gifs

Today users appreciate being able to find the information they are looking for quickly. This means that we have very little time to capture their attention and offer them what they are looking for. And that’s where Animated GIFs come in. GIFs deliver complex ideas in no time while grabbing the user’s attention and entertaining them. And the best? That work in most browsers, both computers, tablets and mobiles

Conversational Chatbots and Machine Learning

Since last year, chatting with bots has become a natural thing of the day to day. We have seen how artificial intelligence has evolved at a giant pace and the possibilities offered by bots. Doesn’t that sound familiar to you? How about when Google gives you auto-suggestions or when Facebook asks if you want me to tag you in a photo. Many companies begin to see the benefits of having bots. Not only for the low cost but also for the possibility of being able to offer 24-hour customer service.

Less is more

But make no mistake, that means more dedication to your website.

Blank space

The  web design moves increasingly toward the trend of the ‘less is more’. This means that we see how web pages are composed more simply and with more white space. White space (also called negative space) is simply the empty parts of the page. Let’s say that it is the space that the elements of the web have to be able to breathe. Using white space to separate sections helps to make the page more readable and easier for users to focus on relevant information on the page.

Sketch has become Design Software

Over the years, we have experienced debates in the tech world: Mac or PC, GIF or JIF, Apple or Android.
For those in the design world, we are now in the midst of a battle for the best design tool: Photoshop or Sketch.
Of all life, Photoshop has always been the basic tool for web designers, however, for a few years, Sketch has begun to eat the ground. Sketch is a Software developed specifically for web designers and covers almost all processes, from design creation to prototyping and presentation for clients. Sketch also offers a powerful library of open source plugins. Being completely based on vector designs it is the perfect tool for user interface design. Companies are adapting to change, and most companies use Sketch as their core design software. Photoshop will remain in the background for designers.

Broken Grids and Asymmetric Compositions

Lately,  Web Design has focused a lot on designing following a grid. This helps keep the elements aligned and create consistency on the web page. However, we are beginning to break the molds, our creativity begins to show itself more and more, the freedom to design and create completely different structures than we are used to. Thanks to these new structures, it is easier to direct the user to the most important parts of the page, but also allows you to create truly unique websites.

Design Systems

Design systems are simply a collection of reusable components that follow certain principles, rules, and restrictions.
These systems are becoming a very important part for many design teams. When used properly, they help reduce inconsistencies and speed up the design process. Companies like Shopify, Trello and Airbnb have pioneered design systems, creating detailed systems and even dedicating pages on their website open to the public.

The use of organic forms

By this I mean any irregular shape. In other words, it is a nice way of saying imperfect forms.
The imperfect shapes have a more human touch and appear hand-drawn. Not being something that is used regularly, it captures the user’s attention and gives a personal touch to the web. If we combine these shapes with illustrations or images, we will be able to break the monotony of the squares and circles that we see on all the websites.

Accessibility

Okay, the latter is not a trend, but it is a movement that we cannot ignore. Accessibility is the design of a web page for people with disabilities. If web pages are well designed and programmed, people with disabilities can easily use them. Unfortunately, there are still many pages with barriers. However, the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 are increasingly imposed. So make sure your website follows the rules. Web pages have become an important resource in our lives, so they have to provide an equal opportunity and experience for everyone.

And with this we are done. In these last six months we are seeing a massive evolution on web pages towards much more practical styles. Remember that today,  your website is the face of your company . Make sure you always have up-to-  date information  and a design that makes the user experience easier.
